Gifts of archives, rare books, and other collections have contributed significantly to McMaster's reputation as a research library. We welcome inquiries regarding potential donations of materials that support the teaching, learning, and research activities of the University.
To discuss whether McMaster University Library is the appropriate repository for the items you wish to donate, please contact Wade Wyckoff, Associate University Librarian, Distinctive, Legacy, and Digital Heritage Collections.
Books which are unsuitable for formal donation may be given to the Open Libraries in the lobbies of Mills and Thode, where book donations can be deposited for others to enjoy. Books in the Open Libraries circulate freely with minimal mediation from Library staff. Popular reading, textbooks, and academic publications are welcome additions to the Open Library.
