Technical Reports are one of the most common and important types of information for the engineering field. They are documents that publish the results or findings from recent scientific and technical research; include the conclusions and recommendations from the research; and contain very detailed information that is intended for a specific reader/audience. Technical Reports are generally produced by one of these groups:

  • a government agency
  • a corporate body or society
  • an academic department

You can find items in our collections by searching the Library Catalogue. Or browse the results from a Keyword Search for "Technical Reports."

Many of the Technical Reports that are available at Thode Library are not included in the McMaster Library Catalogue. Reports that Thode carries in microform can be located by Report number in the metal cabinets in the basement. To find out if Thode holds a paper copy, ask at the Services Desk.

If a Technical Report is not available in our collection, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan.
