Loan periods refer to how long library users can have items checked out.

For undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff, the standard borrowing period is 120 days (some exceptions apply to certain items). Items that are not needed by another borrower (i.e. recalled) have unlimited renewals.

You can find the due date and initiate renewals through your Library Account - please check out this Omni Guide for more information.

Equipment typically have loan periods of 4 hours - if needed for longer, please ask library staff at the Service Desk. Equipment cannot be renewed online.

Please visit Borrow from McMaster Library for more detailed information, including information for alumni and community borrowers.
